This logo and everything that it stands for is an interesting approach for Detroit. I feel that it would take some time to make Detroit "cool" and more approachable for a younger crowd. It seems like people who go to Detroit, go for a specific reason and not randomly. For exmaple, I know people who might go for the sake of a sports game, a party/club, and for the music. I have never recieved a phone call from someone saying " Do you want to walk around Detroit today?" and I never have had the urge to unless there is a music event going on.
I don't doubt that this new campaign for Detroit is a bad idea, but it will take a lot of work. I am curious to see just how long it will take to make Detroit a tourist city, and if people will actually give it a chance. All we can do is wait to see what happens!
